So I keep seeing all these posts on FB about poems and letters to daughters, to help them get on in the world. And I get it. I do. I am someone's daughter, trying to get on in the world. But I think the world can be a confusing place for little boys, too. If I had a daughter, I would tell her all the things in the poems and letters I've seen over the last couple of weeks. But what should we tell our sons? I think the lessons are a little different. If I thought it would all sink in if I could just give him a list of rules - because that's how I work, lists and rules - I think I'd say:
